The project consists of the renewal of the current scanner for the following reasons: Technological upgrade with regard to medical developments and indications of the chest scanner in the fight against SARS-COV-2 (see above); Matching the characteristics of the equipment to the body of patients, to better meet the requirements of the activity, in particular for paediatric care, special care, and to accompany the activity of bariatric surgery at the CHBT; Optimising the patient care process and operating procedures to take into account the hygiene challenges related to emerging diseases, revealed by the COVID-19 crisis; The presence of an ergonomic interface to ensure compliance with safety distances (1.5 m), the reduction of essential contact times and the safe completion of examinations for staff; The characteristics of the new equipment must enable: The compensation for structural weaknesses of the medical imaging service, revealed by the COVID-19 crisis: cramped premises, architectural constraints, impossibility of creating a dedicated management circuit (1 scanner available on the Lower Earth), Upgrading the cardiac scanner activity of the imaging service by improving patient comfort, diagnostic quality of interpretation tools, and increasing the success factors of this type of exploration regardless of the patient’s clinical condition, for practitioners, optimised and ergonomic interpretation tools, to cope with all diagnostic situations, The provision of spectral scanographic imaging inputs, to optimise diagnostic efficiency by better differentiation of density contrasts, a better response to radiation protection requirements. In addition, the 7 years of operation will be reached in October 2020, resulting in the reduction of the technical flat rate allocated for carrying out the examinations. The CHBT therefore has an interest in renewing its scanner as soon as possible, for reasons of public health as well as budget.
