The “Avenir Pro” experiment consists of interventions by Pôle emploi counsellors in schools in order to prepare students in the final year of vocational high school (CAP-BEP and/or Bac Pro) to better understand the labour market. Pro being a national approach, it is based on activities and implementation modalities jointly defined by Pôleemploi and Sciences Po. Specifically, it is a question of offering personalised support by Pôle emploi counsellors that helps students to: Understanding the labour market and employers’ expectations; —Identify their strengths and needs; —Know the tools and services at their disposal to carry out their efforts; —To implement effective actions to realise their project. The second phase of individual support provided for at the start of the project was abandoned because a very small number of young people had committed to it. It has thus been decided to refocus the experimentation on the contribution of Pôle emploi interventions in high schools during the last school year and the promotion of the enrolment of young people in Pôleemploi at the end of their school curriculum. With a total duration of 6 months, this accompaniment begins during their school curriculum and runs from January to June 2023. The intervention of counsellors is carried out in a collective way with professional high school students. They co-construct with the school’s pedagogical team their action. The continuation of experimentation at the territorial level is also the choice of the Regional Directorate of Employment of Martinique to participate. Thus, to ensure its implementation, a counsellor will be mobilised for the whole territory to intervene in 4 vocational high schools.
