European sturgeon is the largest migratory fish in French and Western European waters. Once present on most of the major European rivers and along the coasts of the west Atlantic, this species is now seriously threatened with extinction and breeds only in France, in the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. The main objective of the program led by MIGADO in 2020 is the restoration of this species from restocking from assisted reproductions.
