The XPulse project aims to develop an innovative X-ray medical imaging system, especially for use in mammography, allowing a significant improvement in diagnostic and usage performance. The technological bricks developed as part of the project, whether concerning the X-ray source based on intense lasers or the method of phase contrast detection, will be integrated into a demonstrator that will ultimately improve image contrast, minimise the necessary radiation dose, improve diagnosis and patient comfort.
