XLIM and SPCTS are part of the regional policy for socio-economic development through this project. Over the past 8 years, 17 start-ups have been created from research activities carried out at XLIM and SPCTS. This represents the creation of more than 100 direct jobs (start-ups and transfer centres) in the regions, in addition to the jobs created in regional SMEs and within non-subsidised laboratories which also contribute to the development of the region. This dynamic nevertheless has a strong need for institutional support to go beyond and continue to develop a unique research and innovation fabric in France in the areas concerned.
