All the equipment requested may be split into two parts: 1) Equipment for synthesis – Inert atmosphere glove box (51 kEUR) Modern organic chemistry involves the development of syntheses under inert or controlled atmosphere because it involves reactive species sensitive to the presence of oxygen and/or moisture. This manipulation technique is an indispensable tool for chemists working in the fields of organic and organometallic chemistry, polymers, materials sciences, areas of choice of the CNRT’s LCMT platform. To implement these processes and allow the control of the atmosphere, the glove box is a key tool and it is therefore essential to maintain a level of equipment at the forefront of progress in our laboratory. It will also be used to prepare analytical samples of sensitive or reactive species. 2) Equipment for analysis and characterisation – Gas chromatography set (24kEUR): Homogeneous and/or heterogeneous catalysis is a key theme of the laboratory’s sustainable development axis. The monitoring of real-time catalysed reactions by gas chromatography makes it possible to identify the best experimental conditions very quickly, and to select the catalysts to be developed. The ease of use of gas chromatography increases the effectiveness of reaction monitoring and understanding of the mechanisms involved. This equipment will allow, in addition to a fast and reliable analysis, to free itself from storage or transport of gas cylinders, since it will be equipped with autonomous generators. — Spectrometer MALDI-TOF Axima Assurance (EUR 209): A MALDI-TOF is a spectrometer coupling a laser ionisation source assisted by a matrix and a flight time analyser. This ionisation system generates almost exclusively monocharged ions over an almost unlimited mass range, so this apparatus is a method of choice for the precise measurement of the molecular weight of small synthesis molecules, polymers and high molecular weight compounds (peptides, proteins).
