The ORGAPRED platform was created in January 2020, to meet a growing demand for the production of organoids derived from human tumours (or tumoroids) of different origins, far exceeding the scientific projects of the Inserm Unit U1086 Anticipe at the Caennais site. Thus, after the implementation of the OVAREX protocol (tumoroids of ovarian cancers), the ORGAVADS (Higher Aero-Digestive Path Tumouroids) protocol was set up by the CLCC F. Baclesse to respond in particular to the scientific projects of the ARCHADE project, then the TRILPLEX protocol (tumoroids from triple negative Mammary Cancers) was developed to respond to Caennaise, Rouennaises and Lilloises solicitations on this topic, as proposed in the context of the emerging project “ORGATHEREX” supported by the Normandy Regional Council in 2019. Since then, other requests for collaborations, partnerships or scientific exchanges have arrived from academic partners (Lille, Nantes, Strasbourg...) or industrial partners (contacts in the process of formalisation). The organisation of the network of tumoroid production platforms within the North-West Canceropôle (organo network) has also been an accelerator of collaborations, and currently makes it possible to harmonise practices between platforms with a view to accelerating its labeling by GIS IBISA. For several years, our team has been involved in the work of the National Working Group “organoids” led by AVIESAN to coordinate the efforts of the scientific community in the field of the production and use of normal organoids (regenerative medicine, fundamental works) and tumors (for predictive and research purposes). Since 1 January 2020, the WG has been transformed into a Research Group (GDR) “Organoids” labeled by the CNRS. L. POULAIN (scientific director of the ORGAPRED platform) is part of the COPIL of this GDR and is involved in the national approach of setting up and coordinating the National Network of “organoid” platforms and a possible Biological Resource Centre associated with this network. In concert with the GDR, a very close collaboration is being set up between the 4 platforms identified in France as tumoroid producers in Caen (ORGAPRED), Lille (ORGARES), Marseille and Nice (3D-Hub, joint platform), to accelerate conceptual and methodological exchanges and the achievement of IBISA labeling. Thus, less than a year after its creation, the ORGAPRED platform has become one of the flagships of French research in this field. Thanks to the support of the Regional Council, in 2021 it will have completely unique tools in France, and will be the first platform to switch to the production of high-speed organoids. In this context, a request for labeling by GIS IBISA is envisaged as early as March 2021, in a coordinated manner with the other platforms of the National Network. The ORGAPRED platform will benefit from national support by GDR members including Corinne Sébastiani, Deputy Director of ITMO Technology for Health. This support should significantly strengthen our demand and allow us to move forward quickly in this direction.
