Construction of a bicycle path along the Rudawa River

The investment is located in the western part of Krakow in the districts VI Bronowice and VII Zwierzyniec. The project assumes the creation of a pedestrian sequence with a length of approx. 6.3 km along with lighting and elements of small architecture along the ruins of the Rudawa River from ul. Kosciuszko to the vicinity of ul. The main element of the investment will be the conduct of a paved surface, permeable along the shafts of the river Rudawa. In addition, it is planned to build a lighting power grid and develop the path’s surroundings by installing buildings of small bench architecture, trash bins, information boards, including the creation of an educational leisure zone. In the area of intersections with public roads, collision-free passages under the bridges were designed in these places, paved exits from the crown of the shaft to the intercession. The main design assumption is to harmonise the type of pavement along the entire length of the investment along the river Rudawa. In place of existing, intensively used forepts and remnants of the former paved surface, a permeable surface was introduced in most of the cement cavernous concrete, which will improve the comfort of recreation and rest in the area. The investment assumes the use of two existing footbridges, hardening the surface of the crown of flood embankments and interlocking partly in the area of the left and partly right shafts of the Rudawa. The width of the hardenings for the vast majority of 22.5 m will vary depending on the location and will be adapted to the crown of the existing embankments of the river Rudawa and will take into account local extensions to elements of small architecture and to link to existing pedestrian access stairs.
