Malopolska Humanitarian Shield. European funds for Ukraine. Meeting migration challenges through the purchase of bus fleet

The project consists of the purchase of 7 new MAXI hybrid buses together with the necessary service package. The investment is carried out in view of the need to ensure efficient, safe and convenient transport for refugees arriving in Poland from Ukraine from 24 February 2022. The rolling stock will meet the requirements for adaptation to the needs of persons with reduced mobility and propulsion sources set out in the cooperation agreement. The purchased fleet will be used for ALD connections in Małopolskie Voivodeship and, if necessary, for the relocation of refugees from the Polish-Ukrainian border. Buses will not be permanently assigned to selected bus lines. They are planned to be operated on the entire ALD network, according to identified transport needs. Due to the specificity of the project, approval was obtained for the purchase of hybrid rolling stock meeting the EURO 6 emission standard (letter of the Department of Road Infrastructure and Transport dated 24.10.2022, case mark: TK-VIII.8050.13.102.2022). A detailed justification for the purchase of hybrid rolling stock is set out in point Q of the proposal. The project also includes tasks related to preparing it for implementation and indirect costs, including the implementation of information and promotion activities. It is planned that the buses purchased in the project will be operated on regular bus lines under the ALD in the range of approx. 560000 WZKM/year. The indicated transport work will be carried out as part of already operating lines, thereby replacing the buses of external carriers, which the Company currently commissions to perform these services. As a result of the implementation of the project, the applicant will hire 7 new bus drivers, which is included in the operational costs of the project.
