The object of the Project is the development of green areas in the area of the municipality of Szczuczyn (individual points of the City of Szczuczyn). The planned activities are aimed at promoting the protection of biodiversity and natural diversity, maintaining the biodiversity of the area covered by the Project and increasing the ecological awareness of the inhabitants of Szczuczyn Municipality and more. Therefore, the implementation of the project includes: development of roundabout greenery with adjacent area, – adaptation of the greenery of Border Street (entrance from the loop), – green strips along Szczuki, Kilińskiego and Łomżyńska Street (saturating of trees and vegetation in green strips), creation of a rest area on Kościelna Street, – sensory garden on Kilińskiego Street, – vertical garden – a “green wall” of the Library of the Culture Centre building from the side of the parking lot, – a pocket park on the Square 1000-years, – adaptation of wasteland for the purpose of creating an educational and walking path. The creation of plantings will allow to provide shade and lower air temperature in the heat season; disperse winds blowing in corridors, often created by urban buildings; improve the microclimate; disperse sound waves, and thus reduce the intensity of noise; increase the level of aesthetics in urban space. Taking among the elements of small architecture, e.g. bat houses, hedgehog houses, bird feeders or insect houses in the honeycomb will allow for the existence and nourishment of small animals. The project will be implemented in the period from 15.5.2023 to 29.12.2023. The total value of the Project was set at PLN 1 143 056,00, eligible costs at PLN 1 133 056,00. The grant amount is PLN 963 097,60.
