Development of social infrastructure in the territory of BOF to support refugees from Ukraine

The implementation of the project is related to the current situation in Ukraine related to Russia’s invasion of this country. At present, one of the biggest problems is the lack of places of residence for refugees living and arriving in the Bialystok Functional Area, citizens from Ukraine. The project concerns investment in infrastructure necessary for refugees from Ukraine and improving access to social (housing) infrastructure in four BOF municipalities. It is a partnership project that will strengthen the process of social inclusion of refugees from Ukraine and counteract poverty and homelessness of this social group. The investment concerns the adaptation of existing infrastructure (modernisation, renovation and purchase of equipment) for the construction of 25 apartments in 13 facilities for use by refugees from Ukraine in the area of M.Bialystok and municipalities: Choroszcz, Supraśl and Church Turośń. The project implements the objectives set out in Sub-measure 8.4.2 Infrastructure of social and health services in the area of BOF, type of project: Support projects for refugees from Ukraine. The project pursues a specific objective set out in this action, which is to improve the availability and standardisation of social services in the field of health and social services. The project is in line with CT 9 Promoting Social Inclusion, Fighting Poverty and Abuse of Discrimination. Investment Priority 9a: Investments in health and social infrastructure that contribute to national, regional and local development reducing health inequalities, promoting social inclusion through improved access to social, cultural and recreational services and the transition from institutional services to community-based services. At the same time, the project implements the objectives set out in the ITI BOF Strategy within the framework of: Action 4.3. Development of infrastructure that improves social inclusion.
