A project is funded under the ESF instrument PEB – innovative model projects. The aim is to test new approaches in Berlin._x000D_ As the target group of this project are the unemployed and long-term unemployed as well as inactive persons who are not subject to compulsory schooling, who are at least 25 years old. The focus, however, is on the placement of people over 54 years. The unemployment rate in Reinickendorf has not been declining since 2006 and cannot be expected without innovative and new approaches. The individual and social consequences for these people, especially for the long-term unemployed and the elderly, are serious. These include, for example, psychological and health problems, disqualification (i.e. the devaluation of the qualification acquired so far, among other things because of the ever faster further development of digital services), private problems, for example in the family environment or the circle of friends, as well as financial consequences, which can end at worst in impoverishment or old age poverty. In addition, there are also the problems posed by unemployment for society as a whole, such as the loss of taxes and social security contributions. With the project “Worker 4.0”, the target group receives professionally qualified input on the topic “Working in modern structures”, such as flat hierarchies, communication channels, digital and innovation culture. The mediation takes place in various ways (online, face-to-face courses, guided observation assignments, subsequent meetings), so that on the one hand every type of learning can be taken into account and on the other hand a practical and supervised insight and, at best, a re-entry into professional life can take place.
