PEB MakerLab 4.0 – Competences for the modern world of work

A project under ESF Instrument 13 “PEB – Innovative Model Projects” will be funded. The purpose is the model testing of new approaches to action in the districts. With MakerLab 4.0 b in Tempelhof-Schöneberg, the model project to be funded aims to establish a competence center for work 4.0. In MakerLab 4.0, job seekers immerse themselves in the production and work processes of the future in low-threshold practice projects. For example, the TLN work on a) a 3D production, b) the construction of a robot, c) the composition of a smart home electrical system and finally implement the production of a d) virtual reality film directly in a company in the district at the end of the project. The participants then go through an e) external and self-reflection as well as f) a “future breakfast”, in which they can discuss their work prospects with all participating companies in the project in an informal atmosphere. The final virtual reality practice project is implemented directly in a company in the district. In order to prepare job seekers for the changing world of work, a project run by the participants is carried out, which includes three practical learning phases in MakerLab 4.0 in the district as well as a practical project at a local company. The implementation of the individual stations in the project process takes place in small groups of a maximum of five people. Successful completion of the MakerLab does not require a uniform level. However, if there is a group of very tech-savvy participants, we will start “professional courses” in parallel, which are dedicated to more complex tasks. In detail, the project sequence for the participants is to be designed as follows:_x000D_ a) 3D production project | Duration: 4 weeks | Location: MakerLab 4.0 Tempelhof-Schöneberg_x000D_ b) Experience robotics | Duration: 2 weeks | Location: MakerLab 4.0 Tempelhof-Schöneberg_x000D_c) Smart Home Project | Duration: 1 week | Location: MakerLab 4.0 Tempelhof-Schöneberg_x000D_d) Practice project: Production of a virtual reality film in 360 degrees | 3 weeks | Location: local company in the district_x000D_ e) Third party and self-reflection_x000D_ f) Future breakfast with company: At the end of the project, the participants come together in a relaxed atmosphere with all the companies involved and talk about potential job prospects._x000D_ Quantitative result indicators are: _x000D_ * There are 54 TLN participating in the project._x000D_ * Contacts are made to at least 15 companies._x000D_ * 80 % of the participants state that they have strengthened methodological (e.g. problem-solving) and social skills (e.g. team skills)._x000D_ * 80 % of the participants say they now have more self-confidence in dealing with new media and digital tools.
