The current ecological, economic and social challenges pose great challenges for our society and the Free State of Saxony, which requires new concepts for more sustainability, resource conservation and innovation. The transformation of the energy system to increase the use of renewable energies, achieving climate neutrality and ensuring security of supply plays a key role. Another challenge is the reuse of materials within a circular economy, which at the same time includes the avoidance of substances harmful to the environment and health. Within the framework of the interdisciplinary junior research group, new approaches to solving these burning problems will be further developed using existing research results in the context of hydrogen technologies and put them into practice in perspective. Within the framework of existing networks, the connection with partners in business, research and society will be expanded and used to achieve the goals of the junior research group. The work covers both material-technical and process-oriented issues, which should lead to the development of innovative materials, processes and products. The focus is on new methods for biocidal elimination using activated hydrogen and innovations in the context of power-to-gas technologies.
