The network ‘Healthy Work in Thuringia’ has the overarching goal of raising awareness of the topic of healthy work in Thuringia, thereby contributing to maintaining employees’ work and performance, attracting and retaining skilled workers. This goal is to be strengthened by establishing the Healthy Work network, establishing a certification process and awarding the Thuringian Seal for Healthy Work. The network is located at Ernst Abbe University and works neutrally, industry-independent and needs-oriented. This provides companies with a neutral contact person, who provides information about the tasks and support options of the network’s office, which in the initial consultation records the problem constellation, and the need for action and mediation from the point of view of the company, who provides further contact persons, experts as well as support opportunities for network partners as well as supports network meetings. The measures from the project aim to strengthen occupational health and safety protection and promotion in Thuringian companies, to raise awareness of a health-promoting personnel policy and thereby to uncover and harness potential for employee recruitment and retention. The network consists of a neutral office and an affiliated network of industry-independent institutions as well as a corporate network. An advisory board accompanies the establishment process of the office as well as the establishment of the network. During the project period, the core tasks of the business office are to establish viable network structures and to consolidate them. This includes public relations, attracting network partners, contacting Thuringian companies, information on support offers, initial needs assessment as well as the need-based mediation from the competent contact person and process attendants to companies. Based on a structured application process with a fixed points award system, an ‘Thüringer Seal for Healthy Work’ is awarded to interested companies. The seal strengthens the image or employer attractiveness and contributes to the recruitment and involvement of skilled workers. At the end of the project, the success of the network will be measured on the basis of the following indicators: Qualitative and quantitative indicators, symposia, conferences and workshops as well as public relations work.
