Practical vocational orientation measure with a focus on STEM in lot 22 in the school year 2018/19

» Practical vocational orientation measures with a focus on STEM. In lot area 22 in the school year 2018/19” The measures of practical vocational orientation with a focus on STEM – here professional field testing – are implemented by the following partners at the State Gymnasium “von Bülow” Neudietendorf and at the State Gymnasium “Gleichense” Ohrdruf in the regional authority district Gotha in the sponsor association: • FAV Service gGmbH • Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena. Since the school year 2017/2018, the company training association Service gGmbH takes over the responsibility as a measure promoter for practical career orientation with a focus on STEM in lot 22, Gotha County. In cooperation with the joint partners Technische Bildungsstätte Gotha GmbH, VHS Bildungswerk GmbH and the Educational Institute for Automotive Technology Gotha, the measures of vocational and study orientation in this lot area are organised and implemented. In this association, a diverse spectrum is provided and realised for the professional field survey directed at grade 9. With the acquisition of the Ernst Abbe University Jena as a joint partner, we ensure an offer in the field of professional field testing with university orientation and thus guarantee a comprehensive range of services that meets the holistic approach of vocational and study orientation. This safeguards the demanded offer for a professional field testing in the higher education sector. The cooperation is designed in such a way that it is possible to continue the cooperation with EAH Jena in the future. In principle, there is the willingness of the parties involved to do so. The implementation conditions at EAH Jena are infrastructural in such a way that a professionally adequate range of topics can be made. This includes centrally the occupational fields in the portfolio as well as the spatial and personnel capacities. For example, interested students can take part in a test in the professional field: • Technology, technology fields- Focus on “Materials Technology”. The implementation of the measure takes place in the optimally equipped learning rooms (seminar rooms/hearing rooms and laboratories) and is carried out by professionally trained staff of EAH Jena. In small groups, the interested students get to know the above-mentioned professional field with the greatest possible practical relevance over three days. The measures are implemented in cooperation with the cooperation schools (Staatliche Gymnasium “von Bülow” Neudietendorf and Staatliche Gymnasium “Gleichense” Ohrdruf) and is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) of the Free State of Thuringia. The main objectives of these measures are to prepare young people for the working world of tomorrow and to support the transition from school to education, study and occupation. In doing so, the measure makes a significant contribution to equality with the aim of promoting the reduction of gender-specific training, study and career choice patterns.
