Europe service to promote transnational and interregional cooperation

Due to the nature of Northern Thuringia, among other things, rural structure, low-located industry or innovation centres and declining population development, but also important location advantages, e.g. untapped expansion/employment potential in the tourism sector, the ESN identified important needs/work areas, especially in supporting activities of attracting/binding skilled workers to sustainably secure the economic performance of SMEs/KKMUs. Demand for this is strongly increasing in the region and is being brought to the ESN. Therefore, the needs-based support for SMEs/KKMUs in attracting EU skilled workers and supporting the integration of skilled workers in the region are the primary core objectives of the project. In particular, due to the corporate structure (88 % of SMEs have less than 9 MAs) and the rural structure, regional and European networking and targeted information to MSMEs/SMEs, potential EU professionals and others on topics of skilled labour, EU programmes and awareness of intercultural work/skills on key objectives of the ESN. Thanks to the extensive experience of the ESN, the integration of the ESN in the regional advisory and economic structure, MSMEs/SMEs can be effectively and sustainably supported in the management of skills coverage activities. In the implementation of the project, the ESN will proceed in a targeted and systematic manner. Established methods/instruments are used and developed in a new and demand-oriented manner in order to process important project contents as well as to achieve provided project results e.g. contribution/increasing coverage of the needs of skilled workers in Thuringian companies, development of welcome/incoming culture as well as the teaching of important topics, intercultural competences, diversity management in the ongoing workshop series. Also important for the ESN in project implementation is the intensive maintenance/enlargement of EU contacts, as well as the need to capture needs, working with regional MSMEs and others, as these are important sources for attracting foreign professionals and potential partners for European projects. For project work, the ESN will place particular emphasis on quality management and control and/or adapt internal processes, including through regular consultations, continuous further training of the MA. In addition, external impulses will be incorporated into the quality management, e.g. from communication with relevant partners or feedback messages from MSMEs/SMEs. Furthermore, attention is paid to the appropriate public relations and documentation of the activities carried out, e.g. to present, highlight or make available to third parties the scope, work steps or best practice.
