Modern drug discovery is limited by high recovery rates and low product yields. New developmental drug candidates are usually formed as minor components, often only in simulation of near-natural culture conditions, e.g. mixed cultures. The project explores the potential of pressurised cultivation methods (aerobic/anaerobic) and provides new, more effective methods for obtaining medically relevant active substances in sufficient quantity and purity for further investigations. In addition, rheological conditions are taken into account in cultural management.
