As part of the ESF funding programme ‘Thinka’, the City Administration of Erfurt, the Office of Social Affairs and Health, initially intends to establish a social citizen service in the social area Berliner Platz/Rieth for the funding period 2015 to 2017. The implementation of the project is to be carried out by a professionally appropriate institution, which will be selected in the event of a positive funding vote for the city as part of an expression of interest procedure. The local social citizen service is intended to serve as a low-threshold point of contact, which allows access to the social and professional integration of disadvantaged people, in particular of the long-term unemployed, people with disabilities, older unemployed and migrants, and to establish an active network in the social space. The aim of the work is to promote social and occupational integration, improve the quality of life in local areas and alleviate and combat poverty in any form within the framework of housing and social space-related projects and initiatives. Visiting work in the social space is included. It is a priority to make use of the existing offers and to make them accessible through networking.
