The model and holiday region Germersheim will develop offers along the so-called tourist service chain by mid 2023. In the project “Barrier-free cycling experience in the district of Germersheim” a 52 km long “rhine loop for connoisseurs” is expanded barrier-free, it serves the networking of the barrier-free offers of the individual participating municipalities. In addition to smaller cycle path construction measures to ensure accessibility, rest areas, sanitary facilities and barrier-free signage of the cycle path network are implemented. The cooperation project of the 10 participating partners (1 city, 6 local municipalities, 1 association municipality, LBM RLP and SGD Süd) is the second certified, barrier-free cycle path network in Rhineland-Palatinate next to the barrier-free cycle path network of the district administration Bad Dürkheim.
