The subject of the project is the extension of the Fraunhofer facility for marine biotechnology and cell technology in Lübeck to include another business area for individualised medical technology. With the extension, two additional working groups (individualised diagnostics and individualised therapy) will be set up and institutionally linked to the Institutes of Medical Technology and Medical Electrical Engineering at the University of Lübeck. The focus is on the unique selling points of the University of Lübeck in the areas of imaging systems, diagnostic and therapeutic devices as well as prostheses and implants, which are complemented by EMB’s existing competences in innovative cell and tissue technology as well as IT applications, especially in the field of automation and artificial intelligence.
