Sibiu International Airport wants, by implementing this investment objective, to ensure the necessary conditions to be able to provide quality services and a harmoniously developed infrastructure, considering also the prospect of significant growth in passenger traffic in the near future. At the moment Sibiu International Airport R.A. has a fence with a height of 2.50 m, made of metal mesh with 5*5 mesh, fixed on metal pillars with its own foundation and provided with 3X2 wires fixed on a 45° inclined support in Y configuration. The supporting pillars are made of metal pipe with a diameter of 80 mm and a wall thickness of 2 mm and are implanted in concrete on a depth of 50 cm. On the entire perimeter fence there is a sensitive wire of detection against unauthorized intrusions and CCTV surveillance. The existing system is technologically outdated, the number of false positive alarms is very high, largely due to the metal mesh from which the fence is made, the surveillance cameras, in extreme weather conditions (fog, heavy snow), do not render an image that would support the operator in viewing the areas of interest.
