The project to be financed will include rehabilitation and greening activities of the historically contaminated site, by releasing the contaminated surface and soil decontamination with a focus on bio-decontamination. The main objective of remedial actions is to reduce the mass/mobilisation of contaminants present on the site in order to protect the site for its final purpose, to an acceptable standard for its subsequent use for new economic activities and to reduce any impact on the local environment due to historical activities undertaken on the site. The project contributes to achieving the following national objectives of the National Strategy and the National Plan for the Management of Contaminated Sites in Romania / Specific environmental objectives: A. Reducing the area occupied by contaminated sites and their number; B. Improving the quality of environmental factors in the location areas and implementing unified management at national level. The project will contribute to the result indicator by including the historical contaminated site in the updated inventory, according to the address of the Cluj Environmental Protection Agency no. 19032 of 01.08.2022, attached. The contaminated site was identified under code ROAPMCJ0008 in the updated inventory of historically contaminated sites under the current name ‘CESOM’ with surface area: 13,5 ha; holder: Dej City Hall; In this regard, there are written confirmations by Decision No 1/29.09.2022 of the Cluj Environmental Protection Agency, Letter No 1/3381/LAF/03.10.2022 issued by the National Environmental Protection Agency, Letter No 22958/30.09.2022 of the Cluj Environmental Protection Agency.
