The overall objective of the project is to improve the mobility of the population, goods and services, in order to stimulate sustainable economic development - by streamlining traffic, decongesting traffic in transited areas. Through the implementation of the project, the following goals will be achieved: • Increased accessibility of people and goods to work • Increased mobility of people and goods – by reducing travel time due to increased speed and thus time spent transporting goods and passengers • Reduced transport costs – by carrying out this project, drivers will save time and energy and reduce their fuel and vehicle maintenance costs. • Increasing traffic safety - by streamlining traffic • Facilitating inter-regional cooperation, attracting internal and external investments, increasing the competitiveness of enterprises/companies and labour mobility and, therefore, a faster development of the region and, finally, of Romania. The specific objective of the project is the construction of a 2x1 lane road with a length of 5,754 km between Oradea and Sanmartin. The project includes the construction of 6 structures (bridges, passages and viaducts), 3 roundabouts and 1 road junction. This investment objective contributes to increasing accessibility to the TEN-T road network by increasing relative accessibility by at least 15% in the operating year 2024, thus leading to the achievement of the overall objective of Priority Axis 2: Developing a quality, sustainable and efficient multimodal transport system, Specific Objective 2.2. Increase the accessibility of areas with low connectivity to the TEN-T road infrastructure.
