Water supply systems This project aims to finance investment works to ensure the following objectives: • increasing the coverage of water services in the urban area to 100%; • improving the infrastructure of drinking water networks; • ensuring access to quality drinking water for the rural population; • quality services and complying with the European regulations in force by ensuring the safety in operation and the continuity of the provision of the water supply service; • increasing the degree of connection to water supply services in rural areas. • reducing water losses in water supply systems from 56.59% in 2020 to 38.36% in 2027. Sewerage systems The main objectives of the wastewater infrastructure project are: • increasing the degree of connection to sewerage systems by expanding existing sewerage networks; • Establishment of sewerage systems in agglomerations with over 2,000 p.e. consisting in the realization of main collectors, pumping stations and discharge pipes that allow the further development of the system as the degree of connection increases. • ensuring the necessary treatment capacities through the rehabilitation/extension of existing treatment plants and the construction of new treatment plants. The project contributes to achieving the results of LIOP, SO 3.2, and compliance with EU directives, as follows: CO 18 - TOTAL PROJECT 55 530 inhabitants of which STEP I - 3 461 inhabitants; CO 19 TOTAL PROJECT: 15,226 p.e. of which STEP I – 2,983 inhabitants; 2S33 - After the implementation of the project, in stage 1, the degree of compliance will increase to 73.11% (211.275 place.), which means 3,461 place. At the end of the project, the degree of compliance in terms of service continuity will increase to 100% (279,739 inhabitants), which means 52,069 additional places that benefit from quality drinking water 24h out of 24h; 2S31, 2S32 – After the implementation of the project in phase I, sewerage services will be provided for 155.283 p.e., which corresponds to 79.29% of Articles 3.4 and 5 of Directive 91/271/EEC, i.e. an additional 2.983 p.e. At the end of the project, sewerage services will be provided for 164,776 p.e., which is equivalent to 85.66% of Articles 3.4 and 5 of Directive 91/271/EEC, which means 12,243 additional p.e. 2S79 – investments were foreseen for the modernization of 2 SEAU serving an agglomeration with more than 10,000 p.e. (out of the total of 3 agglomerations with more than 10,000 p.e.) 2S80 – investments were foreseen for the realization of 1 compliant SEAU serving 1 agglomeration (out of 2 agglomerations at project area level) with population between 2000-10000 p.e. The project contributes to the socio-economic development of the area by: Creating jobs in the period of
