The general objective of this project is to modernize the road transport infrastructure of national interest in order to ensure the connection to the TEN-T network of the areas deficient in terms of transport opportunities in order to ensure accessibility to work opportunities by modernizing the DN29 road sector between Botosani and Stefanesti. The specific operational objective is to bring improvements in travel speed on this road sector, by increasing travel speed and lowering the operating cost for road users, thus also improving regional connectivity that facilitates Romania's economic integration into the EU. The implementation of the project will lead to the improvement of the quality of life of the inhabitants and the reduction of the number of accidents and the noise level generated by the large flow of vehicles and, implicitly, to the development of the internal market in order to create the conditions for increasing the volume of investments, promoting sustainable transport and cohesion in the European road network. The main objective of the project is to create a modern communication route, with implications for the development of the North-East region of the country, namely the modernization of 42,739 km, including the construction of 2 viaducts and 5 new bridges, and the rehabilitation of 3 bridges. Also, through the implementation of the project, it is estimated an increase of the accessibility index by at least 25% in the first year of operation (2024), the project thus contributing to the result indicator 2S12.
