The main objective of the investment is to ensure an increase in the sustainable use of the objective ‘Mihail Kogalniceanu-Constanta International Airport’ by ensuring safety, in compliance with the requirements of Commission Regulation (EU) No 139/2014 laying down technical requirements and administrative procedures related to aerodromes pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 216/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Annex to ED Decision 2016/027/R Certification Specifications and Guidance Material for Aerodromes Design CS-ADRDSN Issue 4 of 8 December 2017 with a view to ensuring passenger safety, respectively Order No 129/2016 approving the Methodological Rules on Fire Safety and Civil Protection Approval and Authorisation. Among the main objectives of the activity of SN Mihail Kogălniceanu International Airport Constanta SA there are also the following: - coordination of airport activities and services necessary for the ground servicing of aircraft, passenger and freight traffic, services necessary for general aviation activities; - ensuring the safety of passengers, aircraft, installations, equipment, buildings and transported goods, in accordance with national and international regulations in the field of civil aviation. The general objectives are: - the partitioning of the garage to increase the parking space - the realization of a firefighter's physical training space. - realization of functional circuits both for personnel (entrance/exit from compartments) and for PSI special vehicles; - reconsideration, recalculation and resizing of all existing utilities (electricity, heating, sanitary, weak currents, etc.) and the existing fire detection and signaling system, as well as those necessary to obtain the Fire Safety Authorization (if applicable); - making interior finishes (walls and floors) in accordance with the sanitary hygiene rules in force. The investment project falls within the eligibility period as described in the Applicant’s Guide for the Development of Airport Infrastructure – Public and Private Beneficiaries, which regulates Priority Axis 2 (PA) Investment Priority 7c, Specific Objective 2.3 (SO), as well as the specifications in the Implementation Manual for LIOP Beneficiaries 2014-2020. The implementation of the ‘Extension PSI Remit’ project will contribute to achieving the programme indicator ‘Modernised airports’, meeting the requirements for air transport set out in Regulation (EU) No 1315/2013 on Union guidelines for the development of the trans-European transport network and repealing Decision No 661/2010/EU.
