The use of energy from renewable sources in Brăneşti commune, Brăneşti County Ilfov

The overall objective of the project is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase energy independence at the level of Branesti Commune, Ilfov County, using renewable energy sources in order to ensure its own consumption of electricity in public buildings and public lighting, by developing electricity production systems with photovoltaic panels. Following the implementation of this project, renewable energy sources, namely solar energy, will be used to ensure their own electricity consumption in eighteen public buildings and for six flash points of public lighting in Branesti commune. This will reduce CO2 emissions within the locality and increase the degree of energy ineptitude, given the replacement of conventional energy sources. At the same time, a reduction in electricity supply costs is expected. The project involves the installation of 24 solar-type renewable electricity production systems with photovoltaic panels mounted on buildings to ensure the own consumption of 18 public buildings and for 6 public lighting points in Branesti commune, with an installed capacity of 517.2 kW. The insurance of own consumption will be done as a prosumer in compliance with the legislation in force. The project contributes to Specific Objective 11.2 by: - increasing the level of energy independence of Branesti ATU by obtaining energy from renewable sources for its own consumption; - the increase in the share of renewable energy in total primary energy consumption, as a result of investments to increase the installed power of electricity production; - reducing carbon emissions into the atmosphere; - a more resource-efficient, greener and more competitive economy, leading to sustainable development based, inter alia, on a high level of protection and improvement of the quality of the environment; - the contribution of the municipality of Branesti to achieving the objectives of the European Union regarding the production of energy from renewable sources set out in Directive (EU) 2018/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources. Given that renewable energy production capacities will be created through the project, the project contributes to result indicator 2S145 - Primary production of energy from renewable sources and to achieving the LIOP targets. After the implementation of the project, part of the electricity needed at the local level will be produced locally, using renewable sources and greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced within the locality, considering the replacement of traditional systems using fossil fuels. Thus, the beneficiary and the proposed consumers benefit directly, and the entire local community benefit indirectly from the results of this project.
