Our project aims to integrate young people aged 16-25 into society as responsible, active, critical and supportive citizens. How? Through social and educational support, over a period of 6 to 9 months, 4 days/week, around meeting activities, services to the community (nearly 300 non-profit partners supported each year), training/awareness modules and self-reflection (personal maturation). It is an unprecedented volunteering programme that combines the collective supervision of young people (10 young people per team) and individual follow-up tailored to meet the problems they encounter, in collaboration with their support networks (family, school, youth assistance, etc.). The Citizens' Year focuses on experience, duration and relationship as keys to connecting young people to a life course, with studies teaching us that it is in and through the link, over time, that the integration of young people in difficulty is built. We are requesting the ESF for the supervision of young people (collective management and individual follow-up "positive transition") at the rate of 2 FTE in Brussels (1 FTE per branch in Wallonia).
