The experiment, which will be launched in four micro-territories in Leuven, is part of the pilot project launched by Wallonia to boost employment. These former industrial areas are inhabited by a very precarious population corresponding to the target of the experiment. The approach aims to be innovative by involving the citizen in the decision-making process and creating jobs, tailored to the skills of the target audience. On the basis of an analysis carried out during participatory meetings with key local partners (transversal, economic, circular economy, personal service, voluntary sector) and residents, the objective will be to identify, democratically, the sectors of activity that generate employment and the job profiles that meet the needs, in a process of transition and regeneration of the territory through the choice of activities stemming from the circular economy and related concepts. The aim of the project will be to develop a structure (Employment Purpose Company) to hire volunteers on permanent contracts and on time.
