Acquisition of structuring scientific equipment as part of the CHRONIDOL research project Chronic pain is defined as persistent pain affecting nearly 20% of the adult population in France. This is a major public health problem and for which the objective of medical care is to reduce the corollary disability of pain in order to improve the quality of life of patients without treating neurophysiological causes due to lack of knowledge about the molecular bases and cellular events involved. The CHRONIDOL project is an academic research project that aims to improve knowledge about the biological determinants of pain chronicization, and then explore new therapeutic options and/or interventional approaches to properly treat people with chronic pain. Using an original approach combining cellular systems and adapted animal models, the work aims to determine the participation of metabolites produced by the microbial activities of the intestinal flora (microbiota) and tissues as etiological factors of chronicization of pain, then to study the molecular events and the specific neural circuits of their mode of action. The aim of the project is to provide the Clermont-Ferrand site with state-of-the-art scientific equipment; technologies that will encourage the competitiveness and opportunities of large projects of (inter)national attractiveness also with the socio-economic sector.share on FacebookTwitterLinkedinEmailreport an issue
