Creation of a scenographic center and the house of the National Natural Reserve at Les Phosphatières du Cloup d'Aural

The Community of Communes of the Pays de Lalbenque-Limogne values its exceptional geological heritage, derived from a tropical sea of 170 million years, which formed the limestone rocks and phosphate deposits of the Causses du Quercy. Since 2018, she has been managing and developing the site of Les Phosphatières du Cloup d'Aural, located in Bach in the Lot department in the Occitanie region. The project consists in the creation of an interpretation centre and the house of the National Natural Reserve at Les Phosphatières du Cloup d'Aural in order to enhance the tourist attractiveness of the territory of the Grand Quercy Nature Pole, to enhance the natural and cultural heritage and to accompany the territory towards a four-season tourism, the ambition of which is to gradually increase the number of visitors to the site. The Community of Municipalities of the Pays de Lalbenque-Limogne proposes a project based on the construction of the new building including reception-ticket shop-shop-interpretation space, the development of the external surroundings of the site and the creation of scenographic spaces. The expenditure for this project relates to works, furniture-scenography equipment and external services. Located in the Causses du Quercy Regional Natural Park, this project will support the renewal of the UNESCO Geopark label, and will allow in the framework of the Pôle de Pleine Nature du Grand Quercy to diversify outdoor activities and enhance the local heritage.
