The development project of Place Maréchal Leclerc and the courtyard of the town hall is part of the 2021-2031 mandate plan, aimed at greening public spaces to fight against heat islands and improve thermal comfort. Currently used mainly as a parking lot, the square will be redesigned to prioritize pedestrians, gentle traffic, and commercial activities, while reducing car use. In addition, archaeological studies have revealed the presence of well-preserved historical remains, requiring their preservation and enhancement as part of the project. The development will comprise four distinct areas: a green courtyard of the town hall, a pedestrian area for relaxation and restoration, a central park, and a commercial area. A central fountain will be installed to bring freshness and conviviality. Work will begin in June 2024 and will be completed in early 2025, following archaeological excavations and work on water and sanitation networks.
