The purpose of this operation is to level and replace Pier 12 in order to reinforce it. These actions are necessary to achieve the overall objective: host larger capacity naVire Normandies. Indeed, in addition to the modernisation of infrastructure (example: new generation gantries), it is also necessary to improve access by sea and to deepen the draught at the right of Pier 12 (in order to be able to accommodate naVire Normandies up to 15 m draught compared to 13.5 m currently) through a levelling process (dredging without extraction of materials). A consolidation of the foundations of the wharf wall will then be necessary to reinforce the whole by a process of repinning (or anti-scouring protection).
