Bicycle development project on Boulevard Carnot in Lille - Phase 1 The European metropolis of Lille has been implementing a structured cycling policy for many years but wishes to go even further to become a real "bicycle metropolis" as part of a complete "bicycle ecosystem". Increasing the comfort and safety of cyclists and pedestrians is a priority to achieve the objectives of increasing travel in soft modes and ensuring better intermodality between active modes of travel. The Boulevard Carnot , a busy gateway to the city centre , supports dense traffic connecting various poles generating flows and has no cycling facilities today. The implementation of the soft-mode development works on the first section, located between the rue des bons enfants and the rue des canonniers, is the first step towards lifting a cycle gap between the bidirectional track of the Grand Boulevard and the Grand Place de Lille and securing cycling and walking trips.share on FacebookTwitterLinkedinEmailreport an issue
