The Brewery of the Flemish Country is a beer manufacturing company (brewing and bottling) located in Merville in the North. This company, established in 2006, has experienced significant and steady growth in recent years and produces 42000 hL of beer in 2023. The company has started an ambitious CSR programme in recent years and has integrated the ACT Pas à Pas programme led by ADEME and BPI, which aims to support companies in their decarbonisation strategy. In order to implement this strategy, the brewery has already made investments and, since 2023, has equipped itself with a photovoltaic installation that provides about 40% of the site's electricity consumption. The company now wants to accelerate the decarbonization of the site and reduce its dependence on fossil fuels, gas providing the major part of the energy supply of the process. The operation presented aims to recover the waste heat emitted by the industrial process (boiling tank and cold groups) and to recover it in an optimised tank cleaning system (NEP). The objective of the operation is to reduce the site’s energy consumption by 25% and to save 197 tCO2/year.
