As part of the government's desire to support and encourage the French to choose cycling more regularly as a mode of transport on a daily basis, the city of Bagnères de Bigorre wishes to implement part of the facilities defined in its Active Mobility Plan by carrying out routes dedicated to soft mobility. This project is based on 4 developments, in a clean and secure site, not shared with other modes of transport, and is part of the cycling master plan of the community of communes of Haute Bigorre. These cycling routes and facilities will serve a multitude of transport hubs within the municipality of Bagnères de Bigorre: administrative services, schools, residential areas, important employment areas and shops, sports, tourist and cultural facilities. With this infrastructure development project dedicated to soft modes, the objectives of the municipality are to promote the use of soft travel in the municipality by creating routes in a clean and secure site, reduce the use of the car on a daily basis, facilitate the connection between the different poles generating travel and ultimately act on the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
