This project proposes to exploit an exotic form of quantum excitation, present in some crystals. The goal is to develop a new type of detector, based on quantum and ultra-performing (ultra-sensitive and energy-efficient). These quantum excitations are very special because they resemble giant atoms (up to the size of a cell). This large size, combined with their quantum properties, makes them extremely sensitive to their environment. This represents a unique opportunity to develop quantum sensors. In particular, this project aims to create a quantum super-antenna for the microwave and radio frequency range, exploiting these giant quantum excitations.
