In the Grand Est Region, the BALZAC project (oBservation Air cLimat Zone AgriCole) will provide a first Air/Climate measuring station for the permanent monitoring of a wide range of gases and particles related to the agricultural sector. Based on the territory of the agglomeration of Châlons-en-Champagne, the project aims to help the implementation of an environmental management adapted and useful to the agricultural profession and the territory by the production of reliable and objective measures related to cultural practices concerning: - Air pollutants (Particulates PM10, Ammonia, Volatile Organic Compounds, Ozone and Phytosanitary Products); - Greenhouse Gases (GHGs). The knowledge acquired through this project will allow both to give the keys to agricultural actors to reduce their impact on air quality, and to obtain a better knowledge of the pollutants impacting their activity.
