The CPER Mat-GE project is led by a community of 630 Researchers and Teacher-Researchers and by 308 Engineers and Technicians belonging to 20 laboratories in the Grand Est Region, these actors undertake to use the CPER as a funding lever, a guarantee of their capacities to maintain at the best level the equipment and research platforms and to ensure the maintenance costs. At the regional level, these same players have enhanced their activities since 2016 by filing 229 patents, creating 10 start-ups and 34 operating licenses, 26 industrial chairs and LabComs and more than 90 million euros in contracts with regional and national companies. Organized in 4 research axes (Polymers and Mole Material, Nanomaterials, Metallic Materials and Materials under severe stress), the project aims to remove a number of scientific and technological barriers and address industrial issues in the field of materials. Its objectives are to develop functional materials for applications in the fields of nanotechnology, energy, automotive and aeronautics and health.
