Mat-GE: Materials Grand Est

Research on materials has been strongly structured in recent years on the Grand Est territory. Part of the dynamics of the Grand Est Materials Alliance, the scientific and innovation strategy of academic actors is characterized by the coverage of major families of federating materials at the regional level, an approach targeting themes that are scientifically promising and create economic value, a diffusion of technologies in growing application markets (transport, energy, eco-industries, health, digital, construction, consumer goods and industrial equipment goods). Four scientific axes have been defined: Polymers and Mole Material, Nanomaterials, Metallic Materials, Materials under severe stress. This project is led by the 5 universities of the Grand Est (UHA, UL, Unistra, URCA, UTT), the CNRS, INSERM, the Institut Saint-Louis and GeorgiaTech Lorraine and the Metafensch Public Research Center, representing a community of 630 researchers and teacher-researchers and 308 engineers and technicians grouped around 20 laboratories.
