In its project, the Biotechnology Chair aims to consolidate its expertise in the fields of biobased materials, bioprocesses and process engineering and to strengthen the CEBB's capacity to transfer innovation and change scale, through the experimental study of biological phenomena and processes, coupled with numerical modelling. The project aims to raise the expertise of the Chair internationally and to embark the CEBB on a new exploratory path, proposing an innovative approach in the field of biotechnologies, that of the digital twin applied to the biorefinery. This project is at the crossroads of the bioeconomy and digital (and data sciences), two priorities of the Grand Est Region, and is based on the strong skills in modeling/simulation/machine learning of the Chair and CentraleSupélec. This approach, in conjunction with the development of a modular fleet of pre-industrial pilots covering the entire biomass chain with separative techniques, will increase the visibility of CEBB and the Pomacle-Bazancourt Industrial Territory by strengthening its local leadership in bioeconomy at the European level.
