NEW ELAN SENIORS

Older people, defined as workers aged 45 and over, represent an increasing share of the labour force. According to a report by Dares, published in April 2022, the employment rate for 55-64-year-olds in France stands at 56% and for 60-64-year-olds at 35.5%. Reasons: - Age discrimination remains a persistent problem in the labour market, which can make it more difficult for older people to find or keep a job. In addition, the automation and digitalisation of work could have an impact on the jobs available to older workers, especially those without the necessary digital skills. - There is no shortage of prejudices and a priori: seniors would be less flexible, have less energy, they would no longer want to train or question themselves, they would cost too much to the organization. In summary, employment of older workers in 2023 will depend on many factors, including government policies, employer demand, skills and training of older workers, as well as technological developments. No real action of accompaniment of the seniors exists today on the steel territory of Thionville and that of Metz. This NEW ELAN SENIORS support, therefore, meets the needs of the territory and has the major objective of helping seniors to take a new start, a new impetus by becoming aware that age reveals
