CPER Grand-Est Intensive Digital (GENI)

The EXPLOR-GRID5000 for GENI project aims to federate and pool the technical and human resources necessary to support the intensive computing and data analysis activities carried out by researchers, teacher-researchers and engineers of the University of Lorraine and its partners (research organizations, companies, etc.). It is developing in the context of the creation of the Lorrain Mutualized Datacenter (DCML), and the migration of digital equipment to it. The actions include the acquisition and commissioning of equipment to support research in the Lorraine region for years to come. These acquisitions will set up a high-performance, versatile and scalable computing environment to meet major scientific challenges in the fields of digital simulation, high-speed computing, data mining and artificial intelligence. Access for users is intended to be facilitated, thanks to the implementation of an efficient management method. Localization in the DCML, by pooling, rationalizing costs and deploying responsible technological solutions, will make it possible to gain in energy efficiency.
