The project consists in transforming a mansion of 1804, located at 100 rue du Maréchal FOCH in Châtenois, on the Wine Road, into a House of Tourism and Heritage. This House of Tourism and Heritage will house the new Tourist Office, as well as a museum space on the garden level housing some of the discoveries from the archaeological excavations undertaken in the Château district, which lasted nearly 18 years, by Archaeologie Alsace. This project is a real showcase of the tourist offer present throughout the expanded territory of Central Alsace, and is a real tourist enhancement of the Heritage located near historical monuments. It will also provide a high-quality reception point for the many tourists: Electrically assisted bicycle charging and rental stations, repair station, public toilets, picnic area, hiking centre (15,000 overnight stays per year) in the immediate vicinity.
