As early as 2020, the Community of Communes of the Thônes Valleys embarked on an Integrated Natural Risk Management (IRRM) approach in order to take stock of these risks, existing measures and needs, and to develop actions to prevent natural risks that respond to the specific characteristics of the territory. Today, the CCVT wishes to continue and deepen this approach, on the one hand in order to develop a pooling of resources and an effective inter-municipal organisation in the event of a crisis. But also by continuing to improve knowledge on the territory, in particular through a study on the appearance of forest fire risk in the short and medium term, and on the identification of risk areas. Finally, awareness-raising activities will be expanded, with the creation of educational materials for different audiences (educational tool for teachers, exhibition and other communication actions, etc.).
