The BioAlpine project aims to assess the effects of global changes (climate and air pollution) on the biodiversity of high altitude alpine lakes, in close cooperation with managers of natural areas and mountain users who can constitute additional pressures weighing all the more on these vulnerable environments (pastoralism, outdoor activities, hunting, fishing, etc.). By better understanding the functioning of lakes, it will be possible to identify possible management levers and identify the most threatened lakes that can then be prioritized for conservation, protection or restoration actions.
