The HydroTwin project receives € 700,000 subsidy from the JTF. The project develops a digital platform for the certification and trade of hydrogen and hydrogen carriers. Europe needs imports of new, green energy carriers and is heavily committed to green hydrogen. The Port of Rotterdam has an excellent position to become a leading commodity hub. In addition to investments in volumes and infrastructure, this requires market infrastructure: standard contracts, a spot market in the long term, and green certificates as a matter of urgency. HydroTwin BV, a Rotterdam-based start-up, will take the first and most necessary step in this: developing digital infrastructure for CO2 accounting and certification of hydrogen and hydrogen carriers, aimed at import and further trade. The project will receive €700,000 from the JTF for the development of the digital platform to accelerate trade in green hydrogen.
