Plasma Toolbox for Clean Air

Harmful emissions from the industry are becoming less and less accepted by the environment. Blue Reactor, together with Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), has developed an innovative method for removing harmful gases in the chemical and process industry using Non-thermal Plasma (NTP). The method filters out harmful gases, is energy efficient and does not use water, carbon and/or other filters and chemicals. This is a huge improvement over existing cleaning technologies. The Blue Reactor has been tested by Tata Steel, Shell and the HHNK Water Board and found to be effective. The aim of this project is the development of a second generation Blue reactor. By using the latest technology from TU/e, the plasma process can be made 5x more energy efficient and applied more widely. In addition to TU/e, the region collaborates with educational institutions such as the AUAS and Techport (for the development of a plasma mechanic learning line).
