There is also network congestion in the IJmond. This problem hampers companies' plans to green by producing more renewable energy through electrification. The project Energie Hub Uitgeest-Noord should contribute to reducing grid congestion. The project is a collaboration between Omgevingsdienst (OD) IJmond, Bennex and Nova College. Energy flows 'behind the meter' are optimized by the implementation of an EMS at company level, which is linked to energy markets. The next step is to jointly optimise the electricity use 'for the meter' and the collective energy profile by actively managing flexibility within companies. A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) adds extra flexibility. In addition, the training for sustainability advisors will be improved and 75 people will be trained (40 employees of the participating companies, 30 students and 5 employees of OD IJmond).
